The KNZBC held their first post covid lockdown on August 6th hosted by the AUT Business School in Auckland. This was to be the first post lockdown event for the KNZBC, but recent events mean that this can now be described as the KNZBC event sandwiched between lockdowns!
The council were fortunate to be able to secure both the former Trade commissioner and the new trade commissioner to South Korea to address the meeting; Jack Stenhouse, the recently returned Trade commissioner gave a most interesting overview of his time in Seoul and some insights into life in South Korea.
Stephen Blair followed with his thoughts on his new role in Seoul and the opportunities he sees for two way business to grow between Korea and New Zealand. We were also privileged to have present two previous Trade Commissioners, Jonathan Watt and Jeff Shepherd, both filling this role in the 90’s and still actively involved in business across Asian markets.
Consul General Hong also joined the meeting along with more than 30 other members and guests who enjoyed the addresses by the Trade commissioners, before adjourning to the lounge area for refreshments and networking. All in all a most successful event for the council.
